New Years Eve, volume 1

The picture on the right is of a crime scene. It is a view of our home's basement after cleaning but before the killing of brain cells started. It took about 2 days to make the space inhabitable and even (almost) sanitary. We had enough space for flippy cup and beer pong, and a separate room for Dance Revolution or Guitar Hero. Wow!! Nothing says Happy New Years like watching white people drunk off their ass trying to maintain rhythm and balance while staring at a television.

So the party started, and Dave H is here participating in Flippy Cup. Laurence is in the background managing the keg while paying attention to how much beer is being poured into Luis' cup. This would become a constant theme - no one knew how much was being poured or consumed by Luis throughout the night and into the early morning.

Another game of flippy cup, this time with Maggie participating. She actually was called into work the day of the party. Wasabi hasn't been open on a Sunday for something like 5 months, and the owners had a brilliant idea to open on New Years Eve.

Maggie obviously wasn't happy she had to work, but she left me this tidbit a day or two later. While waiting for people to show up for dinner, she and another server were doing shots of sake.

Maggie's youngest sister Jamie drove out from Missouri to partake in the festivities. In this picture, she is showing her form in beer pong against Al and Laurence. Unfortunately, we lost this game. Come to think of it, I don't recall whether or not I actually won a game in the basement. It had to be the longer table.

Lastly, for some unknown reason this orange piece of 1950's hardware is still in our basement. It appeared one afternoon after Maggie visited Tiffany's aunt or mom or something like that. The machine is one of those where you put the belt around your midsection, and when the machine is turned on, the belt vibrates. It is supposed to help you lose weight or look slimmer. Quite honestly, from what I can tell it does nothing more than weakly mix a drink in your hands (see previous post) or redistribute your body mass.
