Well, Maggie is airborne right about now

Maggie is finally in the air after her last minute packing and bout with food poisoning. It was rather amusing talking with her yesterday during the day, as it seemed as though the immensity of the trip was impacting her. She called a few times looking for things (e.g., allergy kit) and keeping me abreast of packing.

Complicating matters was I had my work Christmas party at work last night - at Gillians downtown. It essentially was an open bar with an unlimited game card. Maggie ever so politely called and reminded me that we had to arise at 2:30 (!) this morning so she could meet with the other students from Marian at 3:30 to catch their flight to Houston, connecting to Tegucigalpa in Honduras.

We made it, and I was able to get a second nap in before getting up for work. The only odd thing that happened was one of the participants on the trip, a somewhat aloof male that is pretty non-interactive, showed up at 3:45 in the parking lot at Marian. He gets out from the passenger side of the car, wearing a tie with a stethoscope and large earphones around his neck. Mind you, everyone else was in scrubs, sweatpants/shirts, or swishy pants. Maggie says "Hello" to the kid - no response. He gets back in the car, and his dad drives him out of the parking lot. And out of Marian College. No idea where he went, where he was going, anything. So the rest of the students and teachers look at each other, shrug their shoulders, and make their way to the airport.
