Pointers need soft things to sleep on - I know this as I have two pointers of my own. They cannot tolerate sleeping on grass, carpet, or concrete. It just isn't soft enough for their liking. This picture (courtesy of thechive.com) only furthers my suspicion that all pointers are the same.
